Baby’s First Organic Food’s
Weaning a baby, usually between the age of 4 to 7 months should have processes put in place to give you baby good eating habit from the start. It is important to establish a mealtime that you give your baby your undivided attention. At first, it is suggested that if your baby isn’t interested in the solid food start with a small bottle feeding and try offering small amounts of food at the end of a spoon. About two weeks after feeding your baby one solid food meal add another, offer a third after another two weeks.
Choosing foods: It is suggest to check with your doctor and get a list of food to start feeding your baby and compare to what we found to be suggested. A good food to start with is organic brown rice, a super-food which is rich in protein and B vitamins and is gluten-free. Mix the boiled rice with breast milk or formula pureeing it to a thick soup. If well received try some cooked pureed apples or pears. For the third meal try cooked potatoes or carrots. The next step is adding more protein such as meat, fish, cheese, yogurt and beans. Start out making sure that each food is introduced by itself and that your baby doesn’t have an reactions to it.
Food to exclude from your baby’s diet would be salt which may strain her immature kidneys, excessive sugar causing tooth decay and unnatural burst of energy, soft eggs and soft cheeses may contain bad bacteria. Wheat and rye contain gluten which can trigger celiac disease in a tiny number of babies if feed before 6 months. Lastly nuts can trigger a nut allergy.
The early months are a time to encourage your child to try new textures and taste. After you introduced the each food to your bundle of joy and know they didn’t have a reaction to that particular food you can cook combined foods and make some taste recipes. A fruit compote or a mixed vegetable can be changed up weekly for nutritional variety as well as interesting taste.
Check out these recipes below and experiment with your own. If you are not sure of a food combination, ask yourself if you would like it or glance at the store organic baby foods to see what combination they came up with and make it. Live Organic Baby!
