chef 192x300 Organic RecipesHow To Make Your Favorite Recipes Organic!

Following an organic diet can often mean sacrifice - after all, you have to take more time at your local supermarket to find all-natural foods and perhaps give up some of your favorite junk food.  However, eating an organic diet doesn’t mean that you have to give up some of your favorite homemade goodies, like Mom’s Lasagna or Grandma’s brownies - on the contrary, an organic diet can often make your favorite recipes more healthy and delicious!  If you’re afraid that your organic diet will prevent you from making some of your favorite recipes, then let us show you how to make your favorite recipes organic!

Swap Out Basic Ingredients. To turn your favorite recipes into organic goodies, you’ll need to make a few basic changes - and this can all be done with little to no effort! Simply raid your kitchen cupboard for baking essentials, like sugar, flour and so on.  If none of your baking products are certified as organic or 100% natural - and there’s usually a label that will take out the guesswork - then replace it with one that is.  Organic baking supplies will not only taste better, but many of the important nutrients that are lost to processing in conventional products can be found in organic baking supplies.  It’s a win-win situation!

Buy Free Range Products. If your recipe calls for eggs, diary or meat, be sure that you buy only free range and organic brands.  Many egg and meat farms often use artificial hormones and other dangerous chemicals to raise their livestock, which means that these toxins can easily find their way into your recipe.  However, free range products - which means that the animal was raised in an open environment and humanely treated - contain no chemicals and have greater nutritional value than the alternative.  So even if your favorite recipe is a waistline-busting chocolate brownie, you’ll still get more nutritional value than what you’d get using more traditional ingredients!

Choose The Alternative. Sometimes your recipes may call for an ingredient that might not have an organic alternative.  If you find yourself in this situation, it’s possible to use alternatives that do have organic products.  For example, if your recipe calls for a type of oil - and you can’t find an all-natural alternative - try using apple sauce, which is a popular substitute for oil in cake and brownie recipes.  Want more advice on all-natural substitutes?  Before you shop for the ingredients for your favorite recipe, head online and find which organic substitutes will make a healthy and all-natural choice for your culinary masterpiece.

Following an organic diet doesn’t mean that you have to cut out your favorite recipes; rather, it gives you lots of room to be more creative in your cooking, as you can find and use delicious all-natural substitutes for almost any conventional ingredient.  So break out your favorite recipe and get ready to cook up an organic storm!
